small update.

So here's what the deal is. On Halloween if you're a fan of Velvet Code's on facebook (look to the right....DO EEETTT) then you WILL for sure be getting a free download of Black. Blue. Blind and I think (I could be wrong I'll fix it later) some new material. This is so freaking awesome since I personally can't go to see them actually perform at all.....The next best thing I have is their CD. God I wanna go up to New York to see them.

Next, they put out some missions for the V-squad, so if you're not apart of it, JOIN!!!! Link is at the right of your screen...Or you can e-mail Marlon with your full name and city so that he can get ya signed up. I really think that all of ya'll should do the missions...They're not that hard....No seriously they're not. Help get the name of Velvet Code out! I've been working my butt off here in Mule Town USA, but people can be a bit stubborn about seeking out new things. Whatever....I'm not going to stop.

IN OTHER BLOG NEWS! I'd like to welcome Summer to the blog! She's going to be helping me with both this blog and my "Life Is Forever Music" blog. Needless to say there's going to be a lot of updates on that blog about Cinema Bizarre, Space Cowboy, AFI, velvet Code....and god knows how much more. She'll also be able to update when I can't....Which is actually a lot as of late because of research papers, trying to follow along in Psychology and having to learn music.

To all of you out there that are wanting to be in the music industry remember to practice...I know this is kind of random but Marlon posted a blog about it awhile back and I had done a small recap on it. But seriously if you don't practice then you're going to suck, there's no if, ands, or buts about that. Just saying.

Wurmitzer VS. Lambert

This is more of a rant than anything else. In the past month or so I've become super involved with helping the band Velvet Code....We ALL know this. I spam ya'll up the wall with VC things. Well along with this I ended up getting e-mails to my hotmail account (who the hell has my hotmail? seriously!) WELL most of them said things about how Adam and Marlon look soo much a like and Marlon is  a poser. Okay no problem, I completely disagree with that...But each to their own. Well what started an annoying morning turned really bad really quick when I had an influx of about 40 to 50 e-mails about Marlon. Not about the band Velvet Code, just about Marlon Wurmitzer. All of them (yes before deleting them I read every single one.) said that Marlon was nothing more than an Adam Lambert look a like.....Uhmm....WHAT?!

Apparently these people are idiotic and don't look things up. VELVET CODE WAS A BAND SPORTING THE LOOK BEFORE LAMBERT WAS EVER ON AMERICAN IDOL! Yes I know that Adam was probably looking like that long before AI but hardly anyone knew him before then! I'm not bashing his music, nor his style....He's a great singer and he looks great! But some of his crazy ass fan girls are really annoying. Since this is just about Adam and Marlon...I won't even get into the other band members from other bands that they bashed....Including a little tiny band that recently released their 8th studio album called "Crash Love." Yea...NOT A HAPPY PERSON RIGHT NOW! That they bashed the other bands honestly doesn't bother me as much as it does that they went out of their way to bash Marlon. He's a really really sweet guy and he posted on his blog once that although he loves the attention (hello he's in music...of course he does) he doesn't want to be called Adam Lambert. He's not...At all..Here's the quote from his blog...

"Quick weekend wrap-up: my roommate, Leona and I went out on Friday night and had a blast. I hate it though, when I walk into a bar and people think I'm Adam Lambert. Sure it's nice to be noticed, but I am NOT Lambert. There isn't an inch of me that is like him, and believe me, I'm more than willing to go head-to-head to prove it :) No pun intended."

THAT MEANS YOU NEED TO LEARN THE FREAKING DIFFERENCE! Again, in general I have nothing against Lambert...Never will, he's talented and making money (I think) on what he does. WOOT FOR HIM! It's some of his fans that are really pissing me off, like beyond pissing me off....When my mother who's never seen a picture of them side by side walks by and says that they don't look a bit a like....That says something right there. Adam Lambert is himself and no one else. Marlon Wurmizter is himself and no one else. I am a HUGE Velvet Code fan....So naturally in my eyes, Marlon wins this. I'm just tired of the e-mails....And if they start going to any other account of mine, you can bet that there'll be some hell being raised.

All in all, my best wishes go out to Mr. Lambert and everything he does and stands for....But I'm going to continue to support Marlon, Nik, and Ryan with everything I can. Call me what you want, but I will make sure that those around me NEVER get the two confused...And again, in my eyes Marlon wins this one by far.

V-squad mission update...

OKay so I'm sure plenty of you got the e-mail with all 5 missions that were sent out. Well this is one of them, writing a blog about Velvet Code....Real hard for me right? HAHA I think I've gotten just about all five done...Not sure who all has done one of them for me though.

Marlon (I'm pretty sure it was Marlon) put up on his Facebook and the band's facebook fan page that he was tweeking Velvet Code's cover of Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi" HELLO?! That's going to be awesome! It'll rival  Chris Wallace's (The White Tie Affair) cover that's up on YouTube now...The video will be up on my music update blog. Seriously, I can't wait to hear it though! I obviously love Marlon's voice, and I've always loved decent covers of another artist's song. Seriously there's a list of covers that I love....Again more in my other blog.

ALSO, if you go to his blog -points to the right of the screen- you can get a free download of "More." Uhm HELLO?! FREE MUSIC! Not to mention if you're apart of the street team you probably got a really cool number to be able to call him tomorrow....I plan to  but I have no clue if I'll even get through @_@.He also said in his blog that they're working on music and what not....FIVE new songs in the works right now. Wootness. I'm happy about it!

So they love Lady Gaga, and would love it if she would consider them for an opening act for her solo act...Uhm HELL YES SHE SHOULD! No seriously, she did this for Cinema Bizarre and it helped them out here in the US. Now granted they're lable mates with her, but still she also took The White Tie Affair with her and their fans also were exposed to CB. Now if this happened for Velvet Code I'd be estatic!!! I'd also try my best to get to a show. I wanted to go last round (before I knew CB) just to see TWTA, but couldn't make it to the one show in TN. I really do hope that she considers taking them!!! I mean it would be amazing wouldn't it? GA I'm about to go on a rant about how everything in the music business can connect in one way or another...ANYWAYS...

Interview with Marlon!

Alright! Here it is! An interview I originally did for my music update blog. Once again I'd like to thank him for doing this for me, and for helping me out with my blog! I'm happy to present this to ya and I hope you like it. Let me know what ya think about it! <3

What inspired you to decide to make music?



[Marlon:]Music has always been in my soul. I've been writing since I was a child, and even though it's taken a long time for me to come out with the first batch of Velvet Code songs, I really only wrote for myself for a long time. Now I want to share.



What's the writing process for Velvet Code? Is there any special methods that you normally do?(i.e: locking your self in a room for hours on end writing away.)


[Marlon:]Haha. That's a funny question. You would think that people have a process, but every time I sit down and "plan" to write something, it sucks. Most of the time, I'll be walking down the street and I'll hear something...a couple fighting, someone hating, some loud obnoxious siren, and I get a melody. I usually grab my iPhone and start recording something. That's how it starts. And then, usually its a smart cocktail that takes it to the next stage! haha.



How long have you been a band?


[Marlon:]Velvet Code's been together for 2 and a half years now.




What is one of the biggest challenges for the band right now?


[Marlon:]Well, it seems like it's like pulling teeth to get someone to back us financially. I've basically built this on my own so far, and I won't stop, but it gets really challenging. I come from a family that had to fight for everything, including to get food on the table, so it hasn't been easy.



What genre is Velvet Code?


[Marlon:]You tell me. :)



Where can people find your music and sample it? Is this also the most popular way to find out about the band?


[Marlon:]Facebook, Facebook, FACEBOOK!! We love Facebook and we wanna build up our team there: www.facebook.com/velvetcode




What are your musical and non-musical influences?

[Marlon:]Musical influences? I love pop music like Pink, Lady GaGa, Britney Spears and Madonna. I also like Electro like But at the same time, I love Muse, Depeche Mode, The Killers, Prince and Queen. So I guess you can say that we cross many genres for our influence.

What hobbies do you tend to do when you're not entertaining people with your music?


[Marlon:]I love to play volleyball and exercise. It's so tough out there...I feel like I have to stay active to keep my head from exploding.




What's your biggest pet peeves?


[Marlon:]People that talk the talk but can't walk the walk. Like come on...don't say you can do something when you really can't. You know, like those American Idol people that think they can sing, but they really can't???




What's your personal view on downloading music?


[Marlon:]I think it's great! In fact, we're going to offer Velvet Code's Debut album for free on October 31st to all Facebook Fans! So I'm gonna shamelessly say, BECOME A FAN!!!
