Wednesday Update

Not much today besides the blog, but I'll get to that in a minute.

I would like to appologize to everyone who read yesterdays blog before I corrected it today! I ended up saying that Velvet Code would be sharing the stage with Lady GaGa, neither of them are performing and I'm so sorry about saying they were. Nonetheless Velvet Code IS going to be there, and I have corrected my mistake on the blog. Including the date...Because I'm an idiot and October 15th is a big day in general for me. ANYWHO, if you're in the NYC area, go check everything out and help support equality....

NOW TO TODAY'S BLOG! It was some advice for those who are trying to make it big in the music business, and I saw things that I've been told time and time again, and I'm in a different part of the music industry.

Here's the main points:

Write everyday- it doesn't matter what you write just do it!

Practice!- Okay I'm going to go in a little on this in my own experience. I'm a music education major, meaning I'm going to school to teach people how to play....My concentration instrument is Flute (NO JOKES!) Well I have to literally practice everyday just so that I can continue to excel in what I do. For those of you who are like "Oh I don't need to practice" YES YOU DO! It's extremely important to practice to reach your full potential. If you don't practice, you're not going to go anywhere and you're going to suck, that's the honest truth. Seriously follow the oh so famous quote, "practice makes perfect."

Don't Give Up- I also want to go into this a little bit. It's not easy I promise, even just being a music major it's hard. I'm competing everyday to keep myself at a decent level since there's no private lessons for winds at the tiny Community College I'm at this year. Giving up seems like it's the easy way out when you're being put down by practically everyone, and believe me you will be put down and discouraged by someone. But if you give up then why the hell did you start it? The way I look at it is if you're life doesn't revolve around what you really want to do then why are you doing it? This goes for any goal you have out there. I have a lot, and I've already started out to accomplish two online and that's my two blogs.

Anyways, although there's been NO TWEETS T_T I'll be posting up the interview I had with Marlon over e-mail tomorrow morning before I run off to another day of classes.

Stay Lovely!

Velvet Code in NYC with Lady GaGa?

I bet you don't always check Velvet Code's facebook do you? WELL WHY NOT?! Oh well, that's what I'm here for! Remember that everyday after I'm home from crazy college classes I will give you all an update big or small that I've read on Velvet Code's facebook, blog, or that they've sent me.

So the first thing posted was a video cover by a group called Pomplamoose. They did a cover of Beyonce's "Single Ladies(Put A Ring On It)"   I personally don't like the song, but the cover is actually quite nice. I suggest you hop on over to velvetcode.com and watch the video..

NEXT!![EDIT: I'm an idiot and said that they were going to be onstage with Lady GaGa...Marlon thankfully corrected me. This is the revised and corrected version.] I'm so happy for the guys for this! Check out the poster for it!

So if you're in the NYC area this weekend, I say go check it out! Marlon said in the blog that the band is going to be there with a new look and attitude! I'm curious, so who ever is going to be there, I so want to see pictures or something.  This is for equal rights for all who are apart of the Lesbian, Gay, Bi, and Transgender (LGBT) community who do not have equal rights to get married in most of the United States. Here's a quote from the blog:

"Lady GaGa is hosting a New York City dance-a-thon rally on October 3 for the National Equality March. The march takes place October 11th in Washington DC as part of the battle to achieve full equal rights in all 50 states in all matters of civil law for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender communities.

Tickets for Josh Woods Presents Bootleg are $15 online, or $25 at the door, a portion of which will be donated to Equality Across America, the organization putting the march together."
Seriously, I wanna see pictures from this. Please note that neither Lady GaGa nor Velvet Code will be performing. That was totally my fault, you can kill me later xD
STREET TEAMERS CHECK THIS OUT!

"All street teamers...I'll be emailing the Velvet Code band phone number to you this Saturday! Only for those on the Street Team..."

That's from twitter! So if I were you I'd join the V-squad!!! And send Marlon an e-mail with your name and city in it!! What band does this?!

Remember if you want to see the interview I had via e-mail with Marlon then I want to see a lot of @velvetcode tweets for it!! C'mon it'll be fun! I do check to see how many people are tweeting.

Also tweet about the blog and get more fans to follow, comment, and tweet along with you!

An introduction and some updates.

Well here we are! The first post on the Velvet Code V-squad fan blog. WOOT! Okay, so I'm going to start with a slue of updates.

  • Nik Fiore is now back in Velvet Code
  • If you're one of the first 500 members of the V-squad (link on the right side of your screen) then you can get your name in a Velvet Code song that's being done on October 15th!
  • On Facebook Marlon talked about working on some new songs, "This Is Not Pretend," "Come Clean," "F*ck U With My Music," I Don't Wanna Play With Your Toys," "You'll Never Play Me," "The Painter," and "Sugar Daddy."
  • If you are on the Velvet Code e-mail list then you probably got a remix of "Say You Love Me" in your e-mail.
  • Apparently Velvet Code has a phone number for fans to call if they want...As long as you don't abuse it that is. (I haven't seen the number just yet xD)
  • Reported on Facebook about recording with a new guitar player
  • Velvet Code is moving to LA, California
  • V-squad missions have been sent out (again in the bar on the right side of your screen!)
  • If we get 5,000 fans on the Velvet Code facebook( also on the right side of the screen) then we all get the Black, Blue, and Blind album!
  • Randomness, advice, and lyrics on the official Velvet Code blog (Yep...on the right side of the screen.)

That's all I found for now, I'll keep things updated to. Feel free to leave a comment and report anything if I've missed it, or I'm in classes and can't exactly post anything. (I wish you all could see my English professor's face when she sees me on my e-mail sending something to Marlon...It's awesome.) I have been informed that Velvet Code will try to keep me updated on news and what not to update the blog.

I have an interview with Marlon that I got for my other blog for music updates, I'm sure that all you Velvet Code fans want to see it, let me see some tweets with @BooBabyDoll and @VelvetCode if you want me to post it.

Stay lovely!
